Kidney Function

    eGFR

    Normal Range:60-120 mL/min/1.73m²
    Optimal Range:90-120 mL/min/1.73m²

    What is eGFR?

Estimated Glomerular Filtration Rate (eGFR) measures how well your kidneys filter waste from your blood. It's calculated from creatinine, age, sex, and race.

    Why eGFR Matters

eGFR is the best overall indicator of kidney function and is used to stage chronic kidney disease. Higher values indicate better kidney function.

    Symptoms of Low eGFR

    • Fatigue
    • Swollen ankles
    • Shortness of breath
    • Blood in urine
    • Foamy urine
    • Decreased urination

    Symptoms of High eGFR

    • Generally not concerning
    • Very high may indicate hyperfiltration in early diabetes
